No-exam life insurance
Eligibility for quick underwriting, the process itself, and what it means if you don't qualify.
Numerous firms now offer streamlined underwriting: qualified applicants (age and amount parameters) get decisions using questionnaire data, pharmacy archives, motor records, and similar—no exam needed. Answers can arrive in hours. Your quotes note whether an exam is needed, might be needed, or isn't needed.
What it changes
Fast-track underwriting still means underwriting. Statements are validated; policies with false information void within 24 months. If the insurer's investigation raises issues, exam or testing may be mandated; you retain control of whether to pursue.
Who tends to qualify
Generally accessible to those younger than 60 within insurer caps, with a favorable health record and no tobacco in the last 12+ months. If you had recent bloodwork from your physician, some firms will waive the exam.
A visit typically spans 20–30 minutes with a medical professional at your Foster City residence or workplace, paid for by the insurer. Healthy applicants often see improved ratings, making it a net positive.
